Danielle Smelter is a Melbourne-based visual artist working predominantly with photography. With an interest in the manifestation of psychological states in our everyday lives, Danielle's work builds upon moments of rupture and disconnect in relationships and environment. Her work is self-referential with a strong focus on the human condition. She is currently developing new research driven work around performativity in photography. Danielle’s has exhibited in The National Photography Prize at MAMAlbury, the Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women, the Photobook Melbourne Photo Award, Abbotsford Convent, Trocadero Art Space and Bluestone Art Space in Footscray.
